Ruth Moreland, Founder and Artistic Director
Ruth Moreland is Founder and Artistic Director of Voci di Sorelle and Benissimo! Music Productions. She is an active composer and arranger. A number of her compositions and arrangements have been performed in concert by various ensembles and choirs, and performed and recorded by Voci di Sorelle.
Throughout her career Ms. Moreland has taught private voice, piano, and music theory, and directed numerous small vocal ensembles. She has been a member of the music faculty at Our Lady of the Lake University, served as Chorus Master for the Lyric Opera of San Antonio, and as Associate Conductor of the San Antonio Choral Society. Ms. Moreland has sung with the San Antonio Symphony Mastersingers and appeared in concert as a soloist with the San Antonio Choral Society. She holds an undergraduate degree in Music Education from Eastern Illinois University, and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
In addition to her musical endeavors, Ms. Moreland writes poetry and essays, is the mother of three grown children, and lives in San Antonio with her husband, Tony.
